Weekly Recap #2: Photoshoots & Thrifting

Weekly Recap #2: Photoshoots & Thrifting

October 21 – October 27

This week marked the official launch of Oneleven, the blog you’re reading right now!! I’ve had the domain for almost a year without writing anything, and I’m not entirely sure what finally sparked me, but here we are! Already, this blog has reignited a creative spark that was missing in my life. I can’t wait to see how Oneleven evolves from here!

This week was a busy one. I had three photoshoots for my full-time job. Photoshoot days can go one of two ways, they can either be super hectic and stressful or they can be easy and fun. Luckily, this week leaned more towards the fun side! I work full-time in marketing for a custom home renovation company, so the first photoshoot we had was a walk-in closet and the other two shoots were kitchen remodels. On shoot days, I’m usually directing the photographer and capturing behind-the-scenes and social content on my phone. Once the shoots wrapped up, it was back to a computer work.

This weekend was super relaxed, and I decided to do one of my favorite things—go thrifting! I hadn’t been since moving in August, so I headed to my local Goodwill. I was surprised by how busy it was and how often they were rolling out new racks. Being in Scottsdale, the prices were a bit steep for a Goodwill, which wasn’t ideal. The store had tons of trendy fast fashion and club-style clothes, which would be perfect for a college student, but they’re not quite my style anymore. I still managed to find some great pieces at reasonable prices—a denim skirt from a French streetwear brand, Nike running shorts, and an Anthropologie dress, all for $19.00! I even stumbled upon a real Prada skirt with original tags from Prada and Nordstrom Rack. But at $200, it was a bit too pricey for a thrift find. Maybe if it were $100, I’d have been tempted, but I couldn’t quite justify it.

I also treated myself to a bagel and coffee from a new favorite spot in Phoenix, Copper Star Coffee. Their homemade bagels and vegan cream cheese are seriously delicious—and surprisingly affordable for vegan options. I always order two bagels—one to enjoy right away and another to eat the next day!
