Weekly Recap #6: Training for a Half Marathon & Getting My Hair Done

November 18 – November 24

I kicked off the week by training for a half marathon I’m running in February, and it’s been going even better than I expected! Back in high school, I was a cross-country runner, but it’s been years since I’ve run consistently. It feels amazing to get back into the rhythm of it again. With 14 weeks ahead of me, I’ve got the perfect window to ease into training and build up my endurance before the race.

This week was a whirlwind of work, mostly computer-based, which meant I barely left my apartment. The busiest day by far was Thursday, starting bright and early with a 6:30 a.m. photoshoot at Little Snitch, a charming brunch restaurant in North Scottsdale. As the shoot manager, my job was to ensure we captured everything on the shot list while styling the tables for photos and videos. The coffee shop was decked out in the most adorable pink Christmas decor! We had the chance to preview their new holiday-themed cocktails and specialty lattes, and let me tell you, they were as delicious as they were photogenic. Even though we were offered anything we wanted to sample, I typically skip breakfast, especially that early in the morning, so I just admired the dishes from afar. Once the photoshoot wrapped, it was back home for a morning of back-to-back meetings. After logging off for the day, I treated myself to a much-needed hair appointment. I had been torn between going blonder or doing something completely different and going brunette. In the end, I opted to go significantly blonder, and while it was a bit of a shock at first, I’m absolutely loving the new look now!
